Who Is CompassionCon For?

CompassionCon is for everyone.

This intergenerational gathering is a space where peaceful words and actions are practiced, celebrated, and amplified. Whether you’re learning about herbal remedies in the Learning Lab, connecting with changemakers in the Civil Rights Town Center, or enjoying the sound of children’s laughter in the Children’s Play Space. You belong here.

From elders to toddlers, from community leaders to curious newcomers, CompassionCon invites you to connect, create, and celebrate a more compassionate world.

And yes, you might even adopt a pet while you’re at it!

For Everyone

Why CompassionCon?

Because this is how we grow the roots of a more inclusive, connected, and kindhearted Georgia.

With over 100 vendors and 1,400+ guests, CompassionCon isn’t just a festival. It’s a movement.

It’s where we practice compassion in action, build bridges across difference, and explore how our shared values can shape the systems we live in.

Together, we’re not just imagining a better world. We’re building it.

"This is how we change systems. This is how we change the world. One community at a time."

Compassionate Atlanta Presents

CompassionCon

What Is CompassionCon?

An annual outdoor celebration, a dynamic fusion of conference and festival, bringing people of all ages together to experience the vibrant ecosystem of a compassionate community.

Held each fall at the historic Legacy Park in Decatur, CompassionCon invites neighbors, families, and organizations to connect through shared values of kindness, justice, equity, and inclusion.

Its immersive design features interconnected “neighborhoods,” each exploring how compassion shows up in real life—through storytelling, food, healing, creativity, environmental care, civic engagement, animal connection, and joyful play.

More than just a festival, CompassionCon is a living model of what’s possible when compassion is at the heart of civic engagement and community well-being—a space to learn, connect, celebrate, and co-create a more just and caring world.

About Compassionate Atlanta

Who We Are

Compassionate Atlanta (CA) is a grassroots community building nonprofit rooted in the belief that compassion is the thread that weaves communities towards equitable health outcomes. By fostering deeper human connection across Georgia, CA encourages individuals, organizations, and institutions to lead with wise, compassionate action in all they do.

Serving as the connective tissue for more than 200 partners—including nonprofits, schools, municipalities, businesses, and healthcare systems—CA works collaboratively to cultivate a culture where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.

CA embodies the principles of belonging, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in its programs, partnerships, and internal operations. We break down systemic barriers and nurture meaningful relationships so that communities can thrive—together.

Over the past decade, CA has become a trusted convener and catalyst across the state. Our work integrates leadership development, storytelling, healing-centered engagement, and practical strategies to address the Social Determinants of Health.

CA conducts programming under five initiatives focusing on compassion for Self, compassion with and for others, in place making, beyond Atlanta, and within systems.
